What size storage unit should I choose?
It depends on what you need to store. At Pelican Self Storage, we offer storage units in many different sizes—from small units for a few moving boxes and personal belongings to large units with space for an entire household or business inventory. What am I allowed to store in a storage unit?
You can store most personal belongings, furniture, moving boxes, sports equipment, seasonal items and business inventory in your storage unit. For safety reasons, you must not store flammable, explosive or illegal items, or food that may attract pests. If you are unsure what you are allowed to store, you are always welcome to contact us.
Can I switch to a larger or smaller storage unit?
Yes. If your space requirements change, you can easily and free of charge switch to a larger or smaller storage unit when capacity is available. Our staff will be happy to help you find a solution that suits your needs, so you always have the right amount of storage space.
How long can I rent a storage unit for?
You can rent a storage unit for as long as you need—whether for a shorter or longer period. Many people use our storage units when moving or renovating, while others need extra space for a longer period. At Pelican, we offer flexible rental agreements, so you can store your belongings for as long as it suits you.
Are my belongings insured while in storage?
Yes. To store your belongings at Pelican Self Storage, they must be covered by insurance. You can choose to use your own home contents insurance if it covers storage, or take out Pelican’s insurance. If you are unsure which solution is best for you, our staff will be happy to advise you.
Do I need to bring my own padlock?
No. When you move in at Pelican Self Storage, you purchase a padlock for your storage unit. The padlock is yours, so you can take it with you when you move out and use it again if you need a storage unit with us at a later time.
Can businesses rent storage units at Pelican?
Yes. Pelican Self Storage offers flexible storage solutions for both private customers and businesses. Many businesses use our storage units for stock, archives, tools, goods or equipment. We are happy to help you find a solution that suits your company’s needs.
Can I view the storage unit before I rent it?
Yes. We offer viewings of both the storage unit and our facilities before you rent. This way, you can see the unit’s size and get an impression of our storage centre before you make your decision. Contact us to book a viewing.
